No longer sure about his choice, the man tried to make Foo to slow down. But no matter how many "wait" he uttered, Foo seemed to not be able to hear them.
After dragging the wailing man for a bit, they could hear hurried footsteps behind them.
"Ah! What a coincidence to meet you here!"
It was the receptionist from before. However, her clothes did seem more wrinkly... As if she had just slept in them...
"Did you fall asleep when waiting for me outside?" Foo inquiried. It seemed really suspicious. He thought that she had at least gone back to do her job when she escaped. But it seemed more likely that she actually just stalked around, waiting for him to be done...
It seems that no one is as loyal as Lucifer...
"No! Not at all!" the receptionist hurriedly insisted. But the guilty tone and suspicious reactions testified that it was indeed the case.
"Anyway~ Now that we so coincidentally met each other, do you mind if I tag along? I know lots about the academy if you need any help!"
It seemed like she came hoping for some excitement, or just to befriend the new section head.
Since there was no problem for her to tag along, she might even be able to help out. As such, Foo made a sound of agreement. The fact that she might be skipping out on her real work was totally her fault.
Overjoyed that she could come along, she joined them and happily asked, "What are you up to? Anything fun?"
As Foo was only intending to meet up with the siblings to get someone that knew about the academy, that plan was now made redundant as he now had the receptionist.
And based on his observation, the receptionist should be more knowledgeable and have more connections. As the siblings seemed too busy to help him out, he should probably leave them alone... And do fun stuff without them.
As such Foo reevaluated his goals. The 'scripting' was on the way, so he should now focus on improving the third section.
Making his own private army sounded like a nice idea. And he could probably siphon off some money... eh... for the betterment of the students of course...
If Foo gets stronger and wealthier, the students would surely benefit from it... somehow...
As such he should focus on the reconstruction of the third section and the teaching of the students.
"The students in the third section are from both the warrior and wizard sections, right?"
"Yes. That is correct. The students that does not meet the criteria of the teachers gets sent to the third section, as they can't just kick them out."
"And they are still allowed to attend to public lectures, correct?"
"Indeed. However, the lectures are often tailored towards the 'real' students, and does not give that much to the others. Especially since it is usually on a much higher level than the more or less self taught students are at."
"By the way, what section to you belong to?"
"Me? I am from the wizard section. However, it seems like I am on the verge of being forced to transfer to the third section. My results are not good, and taking the receptionist job was the only thing that allowed me to stay."
Giving a deep sigh, she continued, "And as the receptionist position is quite attractive to the ones on the verge of being kicked out, as it will secure your position as long as you do your job properly, the students are constantly contesting for it..."
A bit embarrassed, she concluded, "And I miiight have kind of abandoned my responsibilities a bit... And as such it is a fact that I will be replaced."
Giving a bright smile, she then happily stated, "As you are the head of the third section, I will be in your care. Let's get along in the future as well!"
Foo was speechless. How irresponsible could one be? She abandoned her post to go and have fun, and when she was being kicked from her position, she expected Foo to take care of her?
But then again, he now had a whole section to take care of. One more did not matter that much. In fact, he was missing someone to complement the newly acquired lab... assistant. To gain a wizard apprentice on top of the warrior apprentice was quite lucky!
And as both of them should be ranked in the upper level of the third section, they should not break that easily...
