Since organising the soldiers of the village, two days had passed. During that time, each of the 4 squads were sent into the forest to hunt. This would not only help them to work with each other in combat, it was also a way for Faruth to map out the forest, to find the lairs of dangerous beasts or tribes that he could interact with. The soldiers that were underneath the 4 Generals were still quite weak.
Their bodies were still slightly weakened after being locked in the cages for a while, though the fact that they had almost fully recovered was testament to the superior regenerative ability of people in this world. Or at least, the Gnolls, after all, Faruth hadn't met any human inhabitants yet. On top of this, their levels were quite low, at least in comparison to their captains. The highest amongst them was the male Gnoll under Marth, with a level of 5, the rest of them averaged out at about level 3 or 4.
While this training was ongoing, Klein and Auram had begun constructing the outer wall. During the meeting, Klein estimated that they would need about a week to finish it if they had about 10 people working on it. Similarly to the construction of the first wall, Faruth got the new soldiers that weren't under anyone to help with transporting and harvesting the materials for building.
Afterwards, he would personally train the ones suitable for physical fighting, namely Maal and Rumbal. As this training was ongoing, Grum, the Satyr suited for scouting was trained by Rose and Wulfarth, after all, they were the ones with the deepest knowledge about this sort of thing. The two druids, Vi and Wix were being trained on controlling their magic by the two elders and Grimanth, though the girls had a broader knowledge of different types of magic, the three had much better control of their magic, after all, even the two elders were more than 3 times their age.
As the hunting or training ended for the day, the soldiers would be gathered in the centre of the cave where they would be taught the [Buddhism] skill in advance by both Faruth and Alneth, the Generals that had not learned the skill were alongside them too. As the days went on Faruth was beginning to see an improvement in the skills of Maal and Rumbal, meaning that he could practice his own skills against them, improving his foundation even further beyond his level.
Like this, a week passed and the hunting parties had returned to the village with important news, they had discovered a new village in the outskirts of the forest
**********************************************************
According to the report from the 4 Generals and Frothen, they were returning to the village when they noticed a track leading off to the side of their normal route, so they travelled down it to investigate. At the end of the track was a large circular clearing, about 4 metres across. In the middle of this clearing was a village of Goblins, similar to Fulbash' village that was destroyed by Wulfarth about 3 weeks ago. However, compared to the other village, this one was fortified considerably better. They had the beginnings of a wall surrounding them with several guards visible within the village.
They guards had similar equipment to the soldiers in Faruth's village, basic stone fashioned weapons with little to no armour except for their skin. In the centre of the village itself was a hut considerably bigger than the rest. Whereas the others were just sticks and leaves, this one was made from logs and had a thatched roof, though the handiwork had about as much finesse as Rath's fighting style.
Even though the scouting parties couldn't see the interior, they could deduce that it was the hut belonging to the Chieftain. And judging by the scope of the village, the Chieftain was more than likely of the second stage and he may not be the only one. After looking around for a few minutes, the group immediately returned to the village to bring the news to Faruth. After all, this was exactly what Faruth had in mind when sending them out to hunt the magical beasts in the forest.
**********************************************************
The report had ended and Faruth sat in silent contemplation for a minute or two. He had many thoughts running through his head at that moment, from both sides of his personality. His human side was telling him to meet with the Chieftain of the Goblin village and form an alliance with his own, after all, he now had members of his village that were Goblins. His animalistic side was telling him the complete opposite however.
He was the ruler of this forest, why should he give his territory to anyone else. They needed to be exterminated, they needed to be wiped off the face of this planet forever. But he fought against it, he didn't want to give in to his bodies own ideas, he was better than them. Better than that.
So he decided to come to a compromise. He wanted a way that would allow him to rule the forest without wiping out a tribe for simply existing. So instead of simply massacring them all. he would duel the Chieftain of the village and take it under his command. His soldiers would stand guard just outside the village in case the Goblins refused or tried to go back on their word, that way, he would have justification to kill them.
The elders and Generals all seemed to agree with his plan, the mages even going as far as to praise him for making such a benevolent choice. After the meeting had ended, Faruth returned with Alneth to teaching the [Buddhism] skill to the new soldiers, where he told them about the plan. It would take place 2 days from now, in the meantime, Faruth had something that he wanted to experiment with.
