Lian Yin watched as the blonde bombshell threw herself at the male lead, her face still as beautiful as it was before it began to rain cats and dogs.
He especially scoffed when the girl asked the male lead about the young girl beside him.
They argued before the male lead went in for a hug, crushing the girl in his embrace.
'Welp, I'm out,' Lian Yin thought, completely turning a one-eighty and returning into his taxi.
[Host has completed mission, +1 experience.]
Starting the engine, Lian Yin ignored the system's notification window that popped up just to the top right-hand side of his vision. He was already at the top. Why would he need more experience for?
After leaving the main leads, suddenly the rain that was pouring buckets from before had turned tranquil and merry as if he had imagined the whole thing earlier.
Chuckling, he cruised, watching to see if he could find that familiar building without the help from Amelia. All cadets had a watch that would connect them to their manager. But Lian Yin felt that it was beneath him, especially since he had something as 'OP' as the system with him.
The system that he refuses to use.
Rounding a corner, a Mom and Pop shop appeared in his vision, the peeling white walls and obvious contrast to the skyscrapers on either side making Lian Yin chuckle.
He found it.
It took no time at all for him to park in front of the building before he opened the doors and was once again greeted by the grumpy and beautiful face of Fan Jia.
"You didn't die?" Fan Jia gruffly said, his eyes showing his utter disappointment.
"Sorry," Lian Yin clicked his tongue.
Fan Jia sighed before he stopped typing at the space-old computer he had in front of him. Looking at the top cadet, his serious face had Lian Yin adopt one of his own. "You didn't experience difficulties?"
"Difficulty accepting that I couldn't tap that, ah."
"I'm being serious here!" A vein throbbed on Fan Jia's head, and Lian Yin chuckled before he returned to his seriousness from before.
"Nothing. It was a standard taxi drive chase scene. In fact, I don't understand why you called me for this assignment. It was way too easy compared to my usual standards."
Remembering the boat ride on the Nile river that he had to navigate to follow the main male lead for another drenched female lead, Lian Yin shook his head in dismay.
He wished that all of his assignments could be this easy.
Who ever heard of boats being considered taxis, anyway?
"So, it went without a hitch. Interesting," Fan Jia muttered before he completely ignored Lian Yin's existence, returning back to typing on his computer.
"Nice to see you, too," Lian Yin sarcastically replied as he went past the door to the left of the picky receptionist.
When he opened the door, his surroundings turned all white.
He was back.
............
"So you didn't experience any difficulties?" Amelia said as she hovered over him like a bee does to a flower, her constant buzzing all containing concerned words. She looked at Lian Yin's eyes, mouth, ears, etc. to see if he had any injuries.
"Ah'm fine," Lian Yin had to talk over the tongue depressor she had put in his mouth.
"Good," the relief on Amelia's face was almost palpable as she crouched all the way down to the floor. "I'm happy that nothing went wrong."
"What's up with you two?" Lian Yin's face was filled with bewilderment. "What's going on?"
Amelia looked up, her eyes filled with worry. "It's not just us, it's the rest of the cadets. Everything has been going wrong lately."
As he looked his manager on the floor, Lian Yin couldn't help but raise the corners of his mouth involuntarily.
Finally.
