Chapter 298 - Bk 2: Chapter Six (15)

"Kheal follow my voice" Helen heard a ghostly voice say.

"Sister?" Helen responded.

"Look down,"

"What?" Helen did not quite hear right.

"Look down!" Helen did as asked. As usual, there was nothing else down, only darkness.

"Your hand, Kheal!" Helen heard her call. Only then could she feel a hand holding onto hers. On instinct, she grabbed on and felt the hand pull her forward ever slowly. She too pushed forward with all her might. Her hand was first to feel the sunlight, but her body would not move forward anymore no matter how much she tried.

On the other side, Lizzy was completely shaken. On one hand, she could call her maids to do something, on the other, she could get caught as a Nether person. All this while she was not quite sure why she was hiding this from her lady. But now that she was faced with the choice to either help or not, she really considered why.

Back in Juhntt, the Nether or land beyond was not talk one was allowed to discuss for fear of attracting death before one's time. She had never heard of any being comfortable with death. She had once heard that there are those who are death-bringers. Their job was to roam the world taking those whose time was up. Even though she had not seen any such in the Nether world, she still knows people of the Nether exist. Would her lady be comfortable with a Nether person following her about?

She was aware that the lady and herself had come to an understanding that they were the only people left from home and until they found his lordship they only had each other. Still, talk about death, this worried her. Her greatest fear was being abandoned by her lady.

"They should be able to aide pull her out without showing up, right?" Si Sanga seemed to read her mind. The moment she said those words, Lizzy's eyes sparkled and she stepped behind Kheal.

"Sol," She called in a low voice and Sol appeared behind her.

"Quietly. Help my lady out," she said softly and Sol glanced at her slightly.

"My lady the Nether is not allowed right over this land," she said and Lizzy froze.

"My lady, then?"

"We really cannot help," Sol said and vanished. At this, Lizzy's panic reached another level. She frantically rushed forward and grabbed Helen's hand sticking out from the dark wall before them and pulled. At that moment, they were not prepared for what happened next. As if the wall had hands, Helen slipped out and Lizzy slipped in, like a swift exchange.

"Lizzy!" Helen was disoriented for a second when she was suddenly in the light, yet she could still see Lizzy slip into the dark wall.

"Are you okay?" Kheal asked.

"Lizzy, no…" Helen turned to run back in but Kheal held her in place.

"There is not even an arm for us to grab unto. Kheal, she is a maid. It is an honourable death," Kheal said and this only fuelled Helen's anger.

"It is best we do not leave without her," Si Sanga said. He saw what they had not. When Lizzy was pulled in, her maids appeared beside him. He had a feeling they could not enter. Still, he could feel the baleful air that swirled around them. If any of them dared to leave her behind, there was a possibility they would drop dead.

"We have a mission to finish! Remember, my lady?" Kheal tried to remind them, especially Helen.

"No! We are not leaving Lizzy," Helen insisted.

"Let's wait instead. Use this time to recuperate. At least with the land dark, many on the other side will not be able to cross to our side," Si Sanga said.

"Wait? Lizzy is in there! The longer she stays in there, the more danger she is in," Helen approached Si Sanga with red eyes.

"You need to calm down," he said with a slight sigh.

"You have a way, don't you? Tell me!" Helen made to grab his shirt but he held her hand in place.

"Calm down Helen, if anyone has any chance to survive that place between any of us, it is Lizzy," he whispered.

"What?" Helen's confusion stirred.

"Helen, calm down," Though he spoke to her, his eyes seemed to be hinting at something she could not understand. Though she was not sure what, her anger slowly stilled and she stepped away from him. He could not just tell her that her maid was a Nether person. He was sure these angry maids hanging around would use that as an excuse to kill him. Good thing Helen let it rest.

"We wait," Helen said to Kheal's pain.

"Yes, my lady," she answered.
