Chapter 3 - Prisoners

Draco Prison

-----

Only the evilest prisoners are able to enter these tall, steel gates. Of course, not everyone in here is truly as terrifying and cruel as the seven sects lead everyone to believe.

There are several prisoners that fall in this category. I am one of them, although even other prisoners may not believe it. I might have... accidentally injured some of them when they intruded into my personal space. But don't mind their mutterings and delusions.

There are only six other prisoners that can be considered 'nice'.

The first, who goes by the name Hail, lives in the cell D-10, which is located in the right hallway.

When you first enter Draco, past the steel gates, you will find a lobby. Well, it's more like a cement room, but you get what I mean. From the lobby, there are three hallways branching off. Officially, they're called the Tueur, Residence, and Assassin Hallways. The Residence hallway, informally called the middle hallway, is where our jailers live - where they eat and sleep. They, unlike us, have nice comfortable beds and delicious food, although only the low level prisoners really need to eat often.

Tueur, which we call the left hallway, is where all the horrific mass murderers reside, and everyone else that has committed a crime the seven sects deem unforgivable - although, everything is forgivable with enough power and money. Only one other person who can be considered 'friendly' besides me lives in this hallway. His name is Quake, although I suspect that he has another name by which he goes by.

And finally, the Assassin hallway. The land of the sinners who - in public opinion - have the opportunity to escape. But they must pledge themselves to one of the sects if they wish to survive. And that is a fate worse than death.

Besides the three mentioned (Hail, Quake, and me), there are four other residents of Draco that are relatively friendly. They all live in the right hallway, the Assassin hallway. There are two males and 2 females among them, although it doesn't matter what their genders are.

Their names are Ixi, Dragonsmoke, Ulysse, and Hakan.

I try not to be biased, but of the six of them, my favorite is Ixi. She's a bright girl, convicted for murdering her abusive father and brother. Most importantly, the father and brother pair were Elders in the Haar Sect. With such an exalted position (for commoners), it is to be expected that Ixi was sentenced to a lifetime in Draco, because she never disposed their bodies properly.

The torture chambers in Draco have taken their toll on Ixi; she is no longer the happy, cheerful child she was when she entered. Now, Ixi rarely smiles, often broods, and in her dreams, or nightmares, she screams in agony. Her body still remembers what our jailers have inflicted upon her.

Oh~ Did I mention? Beneath Tueur Hall, the extensive torture chambers lie. There, they have all of the latest equipment, designed to inflict needless pain on the prisoners.

Experiences

~~~~~
I live in the cell A-5; I'm the 5th most important prisoner in Draco. I don't know whether I should feel proud of that or not. These days, the jailers have lost all their courage. They no longer feel any need to torture me. It's not like their instruments can even make me flinch - there is worse pain than physical pain.
If you asked me to think carefully, I might be able to recall some of the few happy times I've experienced in Draco. One of the clearest memories was during a catastrophe in the outside world.
Earlier that day, some idiot had created his own cult, naming it the Dark Sect. What he hoped to gain from such a meaningless endeavor, I have no idea. The man, let's call him Idiot, raised up several thousand followers, all of which trained in the so-called Dark element. Obviously, there isn't really a Dark element; they were merely training in a variation of the Wood, Earth, and Yin elements, which had a tad bit of negative energy. But Idiot became so self-centered with his followers showering praises on him that he decided to attack the seven major sects - not a good idea.
Altogether, the seven sects have a total of several hundreds of thousands of disciples, and this isn't even counting the endless amount of people located in their subsidiary sects. Isn't it pure suicide to attempt an attack with only a couple thousand people? But somehow, Idiot managed to recruit actual experts, so he, along with his force of about 3,000 experts, managed to deal a massive amount of damage to the Metal Sect, giving it massive losses.
The outside world was in turmoil; they attempted to sweep up practically all of the unaffiliated sects. And... the jailers left Draco to assist in the cleanup.
No jailers in the prison filled with some of the most dangerous individuals in the world - obviously not a good idea. We all ended up trashing the prison, and Ixi, Dragonsmoke, and I raided the jailers' kitchen.
It was bliss, to say the least. If I could have this food every day, I would never leave Draco. They had access to the sweetest fruits, freshly picked from the island of Saimzoung, which is known throughout the continent as the best source of fruit. They had spiritual meat from dragons - the most delicious kind of meat known to humans. The wine in their cellars was brewed by fairies, and the aftertaste it left was heavenly.
We gorged ourselves on these delicacies that day, and it remains one of my fondest memories.
Btw, tueur means killer in French, at least according to my French teacher...
FYI, Ixi, Dragonsmoke, and Wu Xi are all females.
Ulysse, Hakan, Hail, and Quake are male.
Haar is also sometimes called sea fret, in meteorology it's a cold sea fog.
Sorry, I don't know how to describe food *clasps hands* can anyone help me improve my description?
