Chereads / The Invincible Hero / Chapter 75 - Heading Out

Chapter 75 - Heading Out

"You want us to cancel searching the secret realm because you like a girl?!" Master Fing asked with great incredulity. "Yes," Lorne responded calmly.

"Is this kid alright in the head? After everything you told me about this kid Old Que I was expecting someone a little more rational!" Master Fing exploded at Master Que.

"Listen Fing, I'm sure Lorne has a good reason for saying what he said. His brain should be okay...right?" Master Que asked rather than stated his comment. He was also baffled by the seemingly absurd statement Lorne just made.

"You guys think I'm kidding. You think I've bumped my head or gone insane. Tell them BS42!" Lorne commanded the Warbox.

"Well...he's not wrong. He's never been very lucky in love. The first girl he liked he married and a year later he was killed.

The next girl he liked he died the same day. It's only two instances, but maybe fate has decreed that love for Lorne means Death. Although he could have hit his head as well." BS42 said.

"What do you mean? Did he die twice? You mean he died but took a pill and came back to life Master Fing asked.

"No, the first time he was disintegrated by an eye technique and the second time he opened a portal into the karmic stream and his body eventually disintegrated in there before he came to this planet," BS42 answered in a very matter of fact way.

To Lorne and BS42, the Samsara Pod and reincarnating were very natural. It was almost like changing your clothes. One body is destroyed, time to move on to the next one!

Master Fing was completely shocked. Was the legendary Warbox also touched in the head? But as he looked around the room and saw everyone else looked unperturbed by this information; Master Fing realized this information was nothing new to them. "This is real?" He asked.

"It's real. Where do you think the Three-Five paths came from? It is a gift from Lorne's teacher from another realm." Master Que said. "Lorne is from a higher realm?" Master Que asked this question because a supreme cultivation method as the Three-Five Paths couldn't possibly come from the lower realm.

However, if Lorne was from an upper realm why would he descend to a lower realm? If he did descend to a lower realm, then how could he be afraid of some trap in the secret realm?

"It's not Lorne that's from the higher realm but the Three-Fives Path. Lorne's teacher, Master River, comes from a higher realm, but he is an ascender from Lorne's realm.

In order to teach and guide others from his realm, he dispatched a clone to Lorne's realm. This clone is Lorne's Master." Master Que explained.

"Indeed, Lorne is a direct disciple of Master River," a shadow appeared from a corner and became Master Compassion. Master Compassion came and went as he pleased.

Master Fing was surprised by his sudden appearance. "Who are you?" Master Fing asked reflexively.

"This is Master Compassion of the Supreme Immortal Heavenly Rain Sect. Lorne and his friends have been invited to become students at the sect after the Secret Realm exploration is completed," explained Master Que.

"Supreme Immortal Heavenly Rain Sect...." Master Fing was completely stunned. The Supreme Immortal Heavenly Rain Sect was known as the greatest sect in the world. A minor expert from the sect could destroy the Water Rock Sect or Endless Heavens Sect with a blast from their nostrils!

To be invited into their sect a cultivator first had to be a monster among monsters! Not only was Lorne invited to be a student, he was the direct disciple of the founder of the Sect!

"Greetings, Master Compassion!" Master Fing quickly bowed towards Master Compassion.

"I don't see a problem with being more cautious when exploring the secret realm. If it makes you feel better, I'll attend the exploration to ensure the safety of everyone. As an extra point of caution, you might instruct all the young martial sisters to steer clear of Lorne. We wouldn't want things to get more difficult if he happens upon another lass he fancies!"

Master Compassion let loose with a mighty laugh. Lorne was glad Master Compassion was coming with them but exasperated by being made fun of by him.

I've ordered a flying palace to come and transport us to the secret realm. With the flying palace, I'm sure we'll be able to spend a little extra time to prepare for the exploration. Since everyone is gathered and ready, we'll leave tomorrow in the morning.

Master Compassion suddenly vanished before the eyes of everyone present. Even BS42 couldn't track Master Compassion or determine his method of departure. His eyes seemed to have an extra electric twinkle. "I can't wait to learn the secrets of this sect!" he thought to himself.

The next day the entire Water Rock Sect was covered by an immense shadow. Looking up into the air it looked like some type of disc was covering the sect. From the disc, additional discs descended. The new discs were actually transportation platforms for the members of the sects to stand on. Of course, the disc in the sky was the flying palace of the Supreme Immortal Heavenly Rain Sect.

Gathering on their transportation platform, Lorne, Tower, B'wiri, and Paneneko were soon sent vertically through the air towards the flying palace. Lorne remembered seeing the flying palace make its way over to the sect in the morning. From afar it looked like a rounded pyramid with sections open here and there. It looked both majestic and alien.

Once everyone gathered onto the flying palace they were assigned rooms and disciples from the Supreme Immortal Heavenly Rain Sect escorted everyone to their rooms and lead guided tours.

The flying palace had every amenity. It was more than just a flying palace it was more like a flying city! There were restaurants and shopping districts to visit, recreational spots, and other entertainment venues.

The training facilities on the flying palace were plentiful. For the next three months of travel, no one needed to worry about having nothing to do. As probationary members of the sect, Lorne, B'wir, Tower, and Paneneko were able to enter the lowest level of the sect library.

BS42 who spent most of his time in the Samsara Pod came out to examine the library. He was also considered a direct disciple of Master River and he also had a place as a student in the Sect. BS42 didn't waste any time and copied every book on the first floor he could. He didn't imagine he could read all of those books in three months, but copy them? No problem. The copies were then made available to those in the Samsara Pod and the nearly complete Warship.

BS42 spent his time roaming the floating palace visiting any place holding knowledge. He visited the Black Smith facilites, Pill Making Facilities and everywhere else. He wanted a head start on things before they entered the sect. He was also fearful Lorne didn't want to go to the sect. If that were the case his only opportunity for all of this knowledge would be to gather what he could now.

Lorne was in his room. He was making preparations for the upcoming battle. Lorne didn't believe they were walking into a secret realm, he was convinced it would be a battle. He didn't know against whom, but he knew if he didn't prepare he would have to say goodbye to another world. He was tired of that. He was tired of being unprepared and weak. He utilized every resource available to prepare for the secret realm.

The Warboxes were carrying out their orders and Lorne was making his own personal preparations. Lorne was working on upgrading two of his inherent skills, Ridarn Vision and Laser Vision. The Ridarn Vision could help him avoid traps. The new Ridarn Vision could not only see through things, but it combined his Wudi Vision allowing him to understand everything he was seeing. He could locate strengths and weaknesses in people and things. On top of integrating the Wudi Vision, he was also integrating his Laser Vision.

He wanted to be able to use his laser vision while using his Ridarn Vision. In the past, he would use one of his visual skills and then use his laser vision. It was hard to suddenly switch vision skills. It took time to change, not much, just a few seconds. A few seconds in a life and death battle where the outcome could be determined in less than a second was too much time.

If he is successful, he will be able to use his Laser Vision while using Ridarn vision. One of the other benefits of this would be he could see through a wall and see someone behind it. Normally, with Laser Vision and Ridarn Vision separate, he would have to see who was where behind the wall, remember their positions, switch vision powers, and then shoot through the wall. He usually ended up missing or hitting the wrong person.

With the fully integrated Ridarn Vision, he could look through a wall and fire. The Laser Vision wouldn't blast through the wall any longer, but now would pass through the wall like the Ridarn Vision, and hit whomever he desired.

He had been working on this upgrade for years, but he felt like had almost finished making his new Ridarn Vision. Hopefully he could finish upgrading it before they reached their destination!
