Orst charged into battle, killing a soldier, crushing his skull with his hands. His dull stone gauntlet bloodied by the spattering of blood. He was used to this. This chaos was the only way he could vent his frustration. Each life he crushed with his hands, each death by his axe and each necked crushed proved the importance of his existence.
They were his prey, no one on this battlefield was above him, there were no nobles present. A man rushed toward him bearing a spear in an attempt to impale him. This was met by his earthen armour he had conjured. He was special he could instacast, a skill only purebloods could do.
His annoyed face was met by the soldier's worried look as he cast an incredulous glance. Orst admitted that if a normal knight was skewered by the spear he would have probably had a hole in his abdomen. He brushed the spear as if it were a bale of hay. It snapped.
The soldier madly ran as he retreated. Orst pointed his gauntlet at the frenzied soldier and his rock gauntlet flew speedily toward him. The force broke his ribs as though struck by a cannonball. The soldier died choking on his own blood.
Suddenly the men fighting on both sides drew his eyes toward him. A tall overbearing figure, seemingly out of place, wielding an axe and a cold stare, both sides were paused at his entrance. Something was off about him. He had an aura of nobility in him.
Orst was not a normal knight after all. He was a noble's bastard. Terros's bastard to a noblewoman through adultery. He was treated as a bastard as any bastard could be albeit with much more importance and care. He was taught from an early age that he was only to serve Terros as his attendant and his duty was to his lord.
This was the meaning to his dull and colourless life. A machine to do his father's bidding. Cold blooded, unmerciful and efficient. When he was a young lad he blamed fate for his predicament, cursing the Great Omnipotence. He was castrated at a young age to prevent mishaps and he was given no leisure time, only missions he must fulfil.
Orst had been sent to do, assassinations, clearing operations and fighting with bandits. He did not mingle with the knights, he was a pureblood after all, high lofty and powerful. If he were nobility he would definitely the same power of a viscount.
Unfortunately, he was a bastard, and a bastard could never inherit anything. He could not curse his father, and employer, he could only endure until the next mission, he was after all only a tool, and if a tool was useless he would be disposed of.
But this did not hinder him from relishing in bloodlust or killing the soldiers he regarded as ants trampling upon them beneath his feet. Knights did not even pose a threat to him. If he was present during the meeting with the Shadow Walkers, he would have easily caught the spy and snapped him in two.
Three soldiers and a knight charged at him. His face was deadpan, it was like a farmer getting eggs for breakfast. He didn't even dodge their charge and just steadily walked through. Their spears bent on impact, and the knight cast [Stone Bullet] to his face.
He easily destroyed the projectile with a headbutt, wearing the same impassive face. It was a chore for him. The knight and soldiers shouted while he kept his steady walking pace. Three [Stone Bullets] launched toward each soldier coming from the body armour of Orst. They couldn't even react as their heads were lopped over. The knight immediately gasped and retreated.
Orst didn't bother to shoot a projectile at him and just maintained his pace to the centre of the battlefield. He easily threw the burning carts of hay outward. The guard was frantic, they knew what he was doing, he was trying to make the field dimmer by destroying light sources so that the shadow walkers could attack once again.
The knights gasped at the power of the monster in their midst.
"A-a viscount working with the Shadow Walkers?" a knight of Anticourt gasped.
"Has the world gone mad? Why would he betray Rex Imperium?" another voice commented.
"That's not a viscount, it just feels like he is as strong as one,"
The Blackfyre guard knew what this meant. This could be the very end of the battle. If they could not stop this powerful man, Evan and their very lives could end today. The Blackfyre Guard was not intimidated by this figure but, with their current mana capacities and their limited rest, it would be a hard battled, even in a well-rested state it would be hard to say if, with their teamwork, they would be evenly matched.
"What do we do?" asked Oswyn.
"We rally the knights. We can't fight that thing one on one," responded Dynham.
Deimos and Phobos retreated upon seeing Orst. They knew that they had to stop the monstrosity. Rycharde and the knights tailing him followed suit.
Evered rallied five knights and Dynham, rallied another five. They prayed that their efforts would be concealed against the newcomer. Rycharde and his party attacked the muscled figure. Deimos and Phobos targeted their lashes on the unarmored arms of Orst. He seemed slow and the whips would connect.
But he dashed forward in an instant avoiding the whips of Deimos. A knight tried to block him with an Earth wall but he smashed it through, tension filled the air. Two knights charged at him, with full speed, Deimos was commanding them. Orst now lunged in the air twenty yards and launched his [Stone Gauntlet] at the two knights that charged.
But Rycharde observed and knew the attack was coming he smashed a gauntlet away and kicked the other. Orst's once expressionless face now had its eyebrow raised.
"Elites," muttered Orst under his breath.
As soon as Orst was distracted Oswyn launched a [Stone Gauntlet] at the back of his head. It connected and shifted the trajectory of Orst a little bit. Rycharde skillfully used fireball and hit the man predicting his location.
Smoke billowed on his torso as fell down with a thud. Smoke and dust rose up. Rycharde started chanting the incantation for [Flame Blaze] as Oswyn and Dynham charged toward the smokescreen, using their magic aura to locate him.
"Stop, Don't cast!" yelled Dynham. "He's gone underground."
"Steel yourselves he is going to pick us off one by one if that happens try to feel the vibrations under your feet. It's hard to detect an Earth Viscount underground. Stay with your platoons," Rycharde commanded the knights. They naturally followed somehow they understood that Rycharde was an elite captain who had experienced such situations before.
The tension was high as they waited for the looming attack, the greenhorn knights were sweating. They had never gone against a viscount level combatant before and they knew that individually they would never have a chance.
Their only sliver of hope was in numbers. The anticipation of the attack overwhelmed the Anticourt security. After a few seconds, a [Stone Bullet] flew. The Knights dodged instinctively but the stone hit a magic crystal dislodging it from the place and displacing it far from the wall. It created a gap in the lighting.
Orst was not targeting them, he was targeting the light source.
"Men, defend the cores and crystals" shouted Rycharde.
But as soon as this happened a stone bullet flew at knight trying to get in a position it was so precise and speedy that no one noticed it. The projectile made contact and burst the head of the knight killing him.
"Shit," Rycharde swore under his breath.
From soldiers to cores and cores to soldiers. Orst kept switching targets.
