The eighty-third floor was structured to provide space for helicopters to land. The terrace was a restricted zone for flights due to safety issues.
A part of the floor was free of the electromagnetic field, making it possible for a mutant to teleport from outside.
Around a hundred guards and dozens of fighting droids were on standby for any worst-case scenario.
Eva and Richard greeted five high-ranking officials of White Angel Corporation when they reached the floor. One of them was Eva's brother, Jack, who was standing next to a woman in red.
"Carole, any signs of Kiba?" Richard asked the woman in red. Carole was the chief secretary of Eva's father.
"No. We have been waiting for half an hour," Carole answered in a professional tone. "He hasn't responded to our messages."
She then brought out a tablet to show the messages she had sent to Kiba.
"Kiba is really arrogant," Eva said in an annoyed tone. "He has no respect for our time."
"Lady Eva, you can't say such things," Carole shook her head. "Sir Kiba is a powerful mutant, so he has the strength to back his arrogance."
"Carole is right," Richard took over the conversation. "I know you hate Kiba for the killings he does, but we need him. Restrain yourself when he arrives."
Richard, Jack, and Carole were aware of the hatred Eva had for Kiba. He had once groped her at a party, and ever since, their relationship had been sour. Not to mention, she hated his job, which involved killing for money.
Jack believed this attitude of hers would give her no chance to compete for the top job. Their father was old-fashioned and believed women only existed to breed and serve, so Eva was never in the contest to begin with.
The personality of their father and the weak personality of Eva gave Jack strong confidence. There was no way a frail woman like her could ever hinder him.
She might be beautiful and good in business, but that was useless when it came to the throne of the corporation. The world was full of beauties and smart people, but they were always used as stepping stones for people at the top.
To reach the top, one needs not only brains but also a strong will and determination. One needs to be cruel but also kind on the surface. Even if someone punches you, you have to act magnanimously.
'My sister, just you wait till I acquire the throne," Jack thought with a cruel smile, "I will make you learn your true status."
SWOOSH
A small orb of white light appeared above the helipad. With every passing second, the orb expanded, and soon, it transformed into a large column of blinding light.
The column of light converged into Kiba, and he leaped from the helipad.
Carole couldn't help but marvel at the physical features of Kiba. She admired his 6 ft height and the golden hair, but the thing she admired the most was Kiba's pupils.
She felt they were hypnotic to every woman in existence.
"Sir Kiba, welcome to White Angel Corporation," Carole stepped forward to welcome Kiba. She sighed with relief when she saw the suitcase in Kiba's hands.
"Carole? You are looking even more beautiful than the last time," Kiba said with a smile as he hugged her, "Your breasts have developed as well."
Carole freed herself from Kiba's grasp without being offended. It was as if she had plenty of experience escaping from Kiba's advances.
"Sir Kiba, Chairman Hank is waiting for you in the lounge," Carole continued in a respectful tone. "We should hurry."
"Come on. I can meet that old man later," Kiba said with a teasing smile, "First let my body meet yours."
Carole remained silent.
"I was just kidding, but you are no fun," Kiba turned away from her and stepped forward to meet other members of the welcoming team.
"Jack? Why are you here?" Kiba seemed startled. "You should have sent your beautiful wife instead."
Jack gritted his teeth but didn't let the anger show. He knew just how important Kiba was for the company and his father. His father might even pass the company to Eva if he screwed up.
"Agatha is pregnant, so I apologize for her inability to welcome you," Jack replied.
"Ah!" Kiba had an amazed look on his face. "No one told me I was going to become a father!"
"YOU!" Jack was no longer able to control his anger.
Kiba had stepped on his weak spot by saying those words.
At a party a few months ago, Kiba had seduced Jack's wife—Agatha. The worst part was Kiba made love with Agatha at the party itself.
This affair was not able to remain a secret for long, even though Jack's father tried to cover it up. Jack didn't dare think of revenge after his father warned him of dire consequences.
Jack had tried his best to forget the incident and move on. But now Kiba spoke such words without any regard to his feelings!
Jack enveloped his body with layers of magma and charged straight at Kiba. He raised his magma-covered arm and punched out.
BANG!
The guards knew the worst had happened. Even before they could move to stop Jack, the attack had already landed. A banging sound rang out and volcanic fumes filled the air, making it impossible to see the fate of Kiba. Alongside this, melting heat ripples surged out, forcing everyone to retreat.
The guards too jumped back while praying for Kiba's safety. If he was lethally wounded, they would lose their job!
And they knew, no matter how powerful Kiba was, it was impossible for him to come out unscathed from a sudden head-on attack!
"Gods, please at least let that bastard survive!" the guards prayed.
Woosh!
A gust of wind erupted from the impact site, scattering the volcanic fumes. The guards stared with their eyes wide open as though they had fallen into a dream.
"Impossible!"
"No way!"
The magma-covered fist was stopped by a single finger!
If that wasn't shocking enough, the guards noticed there was not a single scratch on Kiba!
"This is no way to thank me for impregnating your wife!" Kiba laughed. His other hand made a slapping motion toward Jack.
The slap didn't physically land on Jack, and yet, he flew a dozen meters as if a giant had slapped him. He vomited a mouthful of blood mixed with white foam.
"Wh... What?"
Everyone had their jaws slack in disbelief. Richard was also horrified by what he witnessed.
"What... what is going on?"
"We are dreaming, right?"
"Yeah! It has to be a dream!"
"No! It is a nightmare!"
