Earth. Year 2112.
Humans always were a war species.
After a conflictive XX century, humans from Earth were fearful of the nuclear conflict amongst powerhouse states.
Across all the Earth history, this was the first time when people reached something akin to a god power, through the science.
The mighty states were joyous with reaching the power to erase enemies, reaping their life like wheat or corn.

But there was a problem.
The harm to the resources were overwelming.
The terrain becomes poisonous because radiation, changing the remainig lifeforms in someting unusable.
And more. The surviving human enemies were poisoned too, so they were changed in grotesque forms or died with a lot of pain later on.
This was incensing up for the power countries, because the weak countries viewed them like monsters.
So countries acorded to not to continue the development of nuclear weapons, signing treaties about how to do and what not to do with radioactive stuff.
But that was a lie.
The powerhouses continued to develop nuclear weapons and radioactive aplications across hundred of years. Obviously, undercovered.
The nuclear technology was more refined and capable of crushing their enemies.
This was called Cold War, because there's no use of nuclear weapons between strong states.
Although this words were true, above ground were developed more technologies without the use of radiactive materials to make war, because it was more easy to obtain resources from weak countries without harming these resources.

Some time for science. The nuclear radiation comes form the desintegration of radiactive materials, in three basic tipes of power: Radiation α (alpha), Radiation β (beta) and Radiation γ (gamma). They were results from the abrupt change of the atom's nucleus because internal or external reasons. Radiation causes ionization, a process that break apart molecules, leaving one of the parts with some of the electrons of the other part. When this occurs with the DNA molecule in a lifeform, a natural mechanism try to mend the damage if it was not too grave. If not, the lifeform dies. Because of this, the mayority who was exposed to nuclear radiation die.
When the creature survives, it will mutate in something new, but the mutations are more negative than beneficial, causing deformations and genetic diseases because the DNA was patched with errors that makes life unviable.

Some little countries tried to produce their own nuclear weapons, but through deceit ad manipulation, their kings were killed with trained military force and their instalations wrecked, with the power stuff taken, like Iraq or Libia.
The powerful countries don't like competency.
But the powerful countries understood that is more easy to make work a donkey with a carrot than a stick.
Then, through support and resources, and some threats; they made the weak countries to work for them, giving away the more valuable resources to the powerhouses. This was the begining of a new battlefield, the Business globalization.
With this, the mighty states killed a lot of birds with one stone. Preventing the weak countries to become powerhouses and lessening the number of threats, like the case of China and India who become powerhouses through its hard work and hard politics from weak and invaded countries; discovering talents in the science and mathematics field in the feeble states and taking them away, cutting up all the posibilities of these weak countries of a comeback; weakening them to making them in puppets without power; manipulating the kings with richness and threats to do their bidding, and a lot more of benefits.

The military technology was used to create new ways of obtainig resources, like money, minerals, food, and human resources.
The other camps of development were boosted with these technologies, making human life more confortable.
There were produced AI, medical gadgets, entertainment, transport, housing, real state, aumented reality, graphene...
The technological development was weighty.

But all of that ended.
This year, United States of America government was infiltrated. The artificial inteligence was hacked, making it obtain the nuclear armament passcodes, activating all the rockets and launching them.
The target were all the other nuclear powerhouses.
Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan, India, Argentina, France, Egipt, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, Australia, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, Japan, Norway and Finland.
The Answer was immediate.
The countries replied with a rain of warheads, but some warheads were deviated strangely to the other powerhouses and uninvolved countries. So, they started a frenzy of nuclear attacks in a battle royale of who can make more pain.
The damage was massive.
Even though graphene shields can protect from radiation better than the ol' pal lead, it cannot support too much heat in a short period. Because of this, the lead that was used before as shields was replaced by graphene, who was easy to make and cheap. But that was a bad move. The explosions were too dense, so the shields were melted and the people exposed to the radiation.

Radiation rained over all the Earth because it was storm season.
From the 2^10 (twenty billions) of global population, three billion died by the explosions, an seven billion died by the subsecuent nuclear rain.

But, that was not the finalle.
During the year, there was something strange about a little bunch of people among the survivors.
They were overpoisoned by the radiation, but they not died. Suffered like the hell, their blood vessels bursting like firecrackers; sprawling the coagulated blood over their surroundings.
Some people resisted, but some people exploded like a balloon, painting with red and black the avenue, spilling the guts and internal organs.
People tried to bring them to the hospital, but they were dangerous because their poisoned blood was corrosive and was all over the place, and their jerking and convulsing movements were violent and the bodies strenght was awesome. They cracked the pavement, and when touching the bodies of normal people their strenghtened bodies harmed them, then the blood corrode the skin of the people who touched the bodies, and although all the survivors have some level of resistance to radiation, the poisoned blood invades them and kills that people if they're not dead by the impact of the twitching victims.

When the year comes to an end, the jerking bodies started to stop. A radius of many kilometers was carved to bring people to a safe distance.
Then, they opened their "Eyes".
When their eyes were opened, there was an illusion proyected on the eyes of all the people in the cities that surrounded them. A black and red vortex of pain, hate and unwillingness. In the center of the vortex, a triangle with an eye, wickedly looking with an evil slit as pupil.
Now, from the slit comes out a monster, a naked human body without scars or imperfections. It was in fetal position but always was a grown up body.
But why they are monsters if they have no imperfections in their bodies?
Because of their presence.
They have a presence like a natural catastrophe, akin a level 5 hurricane or tsunami. A presence of certain death, when you cannot stand against it and the only choice was succumb to desperation.
Then, they reacted.
In real life the bodies standed up; and in the illusion the bodies twitched and started to trip to stand.
Next, an invisible concentric flow started to blow in real life; sucking all the souls and life force in 120 kilometers.
Dead people dropped like flies, and cities become desolate in seconds.
The sparse people who survived saw the stand up illusions.
Men and women with a penetrating eyesight, well built body and a baleful aura towering to the skies.
But they now have some strange characteristics. Some have strange patterns over their bodies, some have extra parts like eyes or arms, some have strange covers in parts of their bodies like feathers, scales or fur, some have strange armour parts, some have control over flowing things around them, some have unexplainable things like skulls or volcanoes in them.
This continued througout all the world. All the people don't saw all the illusions, only the nearest to them.

They continued the fight with the other countries because of the hate acumulated by all the resentful souls. They runned to the closest enemy country to destroy it with their new adquired power, but in the way they encountered other evolved lifeforms.
There was a lot of variety among them: animals, plants, fungi, microorganisms, viruses.
But now they not looked like before. They were true blue monsters. The humans activated their special who was obtained throught evolution, but only discovered they were unable to kill the monsters because the special of the monsters were superior to humans.
Then they tactically retired from battle to go back to civilization. The monsters were intelligent, but the human were more faster then them. The monsters tried to understand the special and use it in combat. A prey who escapes too fast was not desirable.

In the cities, they cannot enter in contact because the baleful radiactive aura was killing the people in their way.
So, amongst them was a scientist; who throught his blood, created a vaccine-tipe serum to help the people support his pressure.
He published throught morse code in the satelites the recipe to permite all the evolved humans create this serum.
With the people inmune to the radiation, they now have a chance to make a comeback.
But now the war is not betwen humans only.
The war has going by 30 years on.

A militar official was waiting for the kid in the square of the town, with other eight year childs in front of him.
Now they ascends to the aerobus who was waiting.
The kids wave their hands to their relatives, meanwhile the aerobus goes into the distant sky.
