Chapter 1 - The Death

"How many weeks behind am I now?" He looked through his list of novels, he saw only 12/40 were completed and those completed ones were usually one chapter. The only completed novel was forty-four chapters and written for a contest he came in last for.

Closing down the webpage his expression was one of despair and confusion. He opened a blank document and began to mindlessly write. This was the only time he used earth as a setting for his work if there was a setting at all. The whole novel was the main character monologuing, and surprising spanned over 5,000 words. The character was comparable to his, the author's, then emotions. As he, the main character, walked around a park and the town he lived in at the near midnight hours looking for reasons on what he does.

The character had no written appearance and scenery was rarely written, the work focused entirely on the character's thoughts. Yet no matter how much the character seemed to be in disarray with his emotions he never held any sort of regret for his choices. It no longer mattered to him that he lived his life alone because he chose a different than average path.

To end the story the character was killed when hit by a drunk driver.

"No clue why I wrote it this way but might as well publish it." He commented before copying and pasting the document to his blog. The blog named after himself, 'Raam's Blog' titles were never his strong suit.

Raam sighed when pressing publish before he walked out of the three-room apartment he rented.

Having made his way outside it was still the early hours of the morning with the sun having just risen. This was a routine for Raam every morning he would go for a mile run to clear his thoughts. The birds chirped away and with the flurries of snow, Raam was left in confusion on which season he was in.

Out of breath, he made his way to a bench his hand gripping his chest.

"Did I make the right choice?

Should I have finished my law degree?

Was my path the harder one?"

Shaking his head he told himself,

"There is no time to regret.

With such a beautiful scene surrounding me, I have made no wrong choices.

How does one define a better life than the one we may have?

I'm here and maybe not smiling but my actions aren't ones to cause regret.

What's the use of money if one can never use it?

I may have none but I have the needed things in life.

Only an author's memories last forever as their's are written down."

Followed by Raam's monologue he suffered from a heart attack. The one thing that seemingly never wavered was his heart but was nonetheless that reason for his end.

With a face contorted in pain, his glistening green eyes lost their luster. His disheveled white hair losing its life.

Falling to the soft grass he faded into rays of light not getting the peaceful death he always wished for.

When he would awaken his eyes once more the world he remembered would be totally different.
