Chapter 65 - Young Miss An

With his mind set, he slowly moved An Bing Qing and put her on his back to carry her with him. This way, it will be faster for them to go out of these surroundings. If he were to wake her up, he wasn't sure how fast she could run; moreover, this situation might get more awkward.

'This… is she really asleep?' Wang Shu questioned when An Bing Qing made herself comfortable once she was on his back; she had hugged his neck and nestled her head on his shoulder right away.

He turned his face around to see her; her face was a placid one while her breath a smooth one without signals of waking up so he retrieved his gaze before undoing the formation he had laid yesterday night.

Once he was sure there was no trace of it left, he sprinted in the opposite direction of the red-robed men's group the fastest that he could. Even though they were at quite the distance from them, the Ancient Inn's Second Elder was faster than him and even with himself not having to stop and break the formations, he was still at a disadvantage so he had to hurry but he didn't lose his composure; there were various formations between them, formations that despite not being able to slow down Men Kun, they were still able of not letting pass Men Kun's soul sense to detect them unless they were between the same pair of formations or that he were to be like An Bing Qing or himself.

As he went away, Wang Shu maintained his light technique over a range good enough for him to have time to react or hide if were to be needed. He also wondered what had come from those people reunion as he had a pair of guesses that he won't be able to know if they were right as those men weren't more on his area of vision.

Though he didn't see it, his conjectures were accurate: the Ancient Inn's Second Elder was mad and wasted a bit of time cursing before going to the only two places where the presence of someone was felt which were the locations the old man who had detected An Bing Qing and Wang Shu found.

But aside from finding some traces of someone unknown to them being on the first place as Wang Shu hadn't bothered to erase them at that time, Men Kun didn't find anything on the second place. Even so, he trusted the old man, hence that situation made him think that there had indeed been someone before and that it was someone with quite the ability. However, he was still enraged; his people hadn't caught that person and the time was running out, what was he going to report to the ones above?

'Hmmh... It's been hours since Fang Lao detected that person here, if it can really trespass the formation as though they were air, it can be at any place, sigh… but… I was told the person was weak, how could have someone weak leave no traces and hide so well?' Men Kun asked before answering himself, 'Unless there is a second person just as Fang Lao felt, hmmh…'

'Ugh… Anyway, let's give a look around before I go back with those annoying sect elders'. Men Kun went away alone after making a swift gesture with his hand which made all the people disperse on their squads to continue what they had been doing since the first day here.

They checked over the place, from the late part were the mid-grade token cards were to the end of where the high-grade ones were, but hours passed and they didn't find anyone else around aside from them and it wasn't a surprise; Wang Shu was already out of that area.

Since he was in an area where he could see other competitors in the distance, Wang Shu had slowed down his pace to the point of being walking; it was not only because of that though. Whereas he wanted it or not using his light element and soul sense was taxing around this time; whenever the tenth day of the first, four, seven and ten months approached, he would feel bad. It's been happening since he was ten years old and he still couldn't figure out what was wrong.

"Sigh, I wonder how this miss was raised; she really knows how to sleep, could it be that she wants to sleep forever?" Wang Shu couldn't help from saying; she hadn't woken up in the entire trajectory. Though that mainly could be because his movements were nimble and light despite all the trouble he was getting with his body so she didn't feel the way bumping while being on his back, letting her be all comfy.

"Umh…" As though she was answering him, An Bing Qing's rosy mouth uttered a sound but her long eyelashes didn't make move; she was still asleep.

However, as Wang Shu had heard her perfectly, he said with a slightly sarcastic tone, "Is the goddess finally willing to wake up?"

With his voice rising up again, An Bing Qing's brows furrowed because of a flow of chaotic words making a deep echo in her head when the word '-goddess' reached her ears. Her fan-like eyelashes trembled before her heavy eyelids began to rise slowly; when the corner of her dark eyes could be seen, a coldness was felt on the air.

Wang Shu who was shaken because of his unusual conduct turned his head around to see her with the sudden drop of temperature and he saw her barely opened eyes about to close again so he said, "If Young Miss An is already awake, would you may like to stand on your feet?"

An Bing Qing felt her eyes really heavy; even so, through her unfocused gaze and almost closed eyes, she could see a smooth chin and a pair of thin lips moving but she couldn't make sense of the words said till later, when her eyes were closed again.

'… Miss An… awake…' Her mind slowly processed the words, making her open her eyes wide with confusion a moment later; she didn't understand the reason behind such speech.

Her confusion didn't die soon and just increased when her hazy gaze was able to distinguish Wang Shu's perfect profile after a few blinks of her eyes.

Wanting to move now, she felt the warmness of her body, a steady back and her floating feet. She got goosebumps and looked down and saw some black hair and white robes; they weren't hers.

"Ah…" She could only open her mouth before Wang Shu repeated himself with a different wording, "So, does Young Miss An want me to still carry her around?"
