Kian slammed his fist on Ririna's table as his eyes looked like he's about to make a kill. Ririna backed away as she pulled out her gun from its holster while Kian lunged at her, trying to grab her throat. In a split-second, Ririna reacted on impulse. She pulled the trigger of her gun and shot Kian's shoulder.
He howled in pain and tried to add pressure to his wound. Ririna, in spite of her long absence from the assassination missions, could still find his weaknesses up close. She intended to kill him, but as the close range isn't her forte, she had missed the vital point to where she could give him instant death. Fighting him in hand-to-hand combat would be useless and dangerous on her part.
