"He's temporarily out of the woods."
"Temporarily… what's that supposed to mean?" Gao Ran asked distraughtly.
"He's sustained very serious injuries. The good thing is, he is familiar with anatomy, and the wound he made in his chest won't kill him. He didn't stab himself too hard, so there wasn't too much blood loss, or else he would've died from a hemorrhage… We've given him a transfusion, but…"
Then, the doctor paused, and Gao Ran immediately knew that whatever came next was going to be bad news.
"But what?" He asked.
"But the gunshot wound he sustained is tricky. We weren't confident that we could successfully take it out, so we left it in there for now. The bullet is lodged in a really dangerous place, so we will have to take it out sooner or later. He's still under anesthesia, and we temporarily closed him up. We're scared of an infection, so we need to go in again to extract that bullet within 48 hours."
