"Okay, but I've got to inspect it first."
Huo Mian took out her tool to check the food.
Making sure it was clean, she let Su Yu eat it.
Taking a sip of the congee, Su Yu stole a glance at Huo Mian
"Why are you looking at me?"
"I'm afraid you're a vision I summoned in my mind and you might be gone in the next moment."
"Ha. Don't worry. I won't go unless I die," Huo Mian said it jokingly, but Su Yu looked angry.
"Pooh. Pooh. Don't say unlucky things. Hurry up and eat."
At Su Yu's urging, Huo Mian began to eat her own congee. She peeled a boiled egg for him.
"One for each of us," said Huo Mian.
"You take them. You have a baby and need more nutrients." Su Yu didn't mind going hungry, but he couldn't bear to starve the baby in her belly.
"The baby says his Uncle Su will treat us to a big feast; one egg is not enough."
Before Su Yu could speak, she stuffed the peeled egg into his mouth.
