Twenty years ago, an ancient tower that appeared to pierce through the heavens suddenly manifested in the center of the Gaia continent. Initially, the world's forces dispatched their elite armies and most distinguished scientists to investigate the tower’s origin and attempt to penetrate it. However, their efforts yielded no results, leaving them with no choice but to establish bases around the towers in preparation for any unforeseen events.

Three months later, the tower, which had remained silent since its arrival, emitted a dense black mist. At the same time, creatures similar to those in the games emerged from within the tower, unleashing chaos upon the surrounding regions. The bases around the tower, even with their advanced weapons, were unable to eliminate the powerful creatures.

Nine months since the emergence of the tower, over 30 percent of the global population perished, with certain regions transforming into desolate wastelands as powerful monsters claimed these territories. Fortunately, following arrival of the monsters, now known as the demon beasts, millions of individuals around the world awakened their systems. 

     These systems granted them the ability to unlock their innate talents and fend off the monsters threatening to eliminate all humans and dominate the world. Despite the absence of the very traditional leveling system akin to those found in games, people could still enhance their abilities by mastering the skills looted from the monsters they killed.

The world is 20% smaller than Earth. With one continent—Gaia, enveloping 60 percent of the world, and the rest is ocean. 
Note2: Chronology
Year 860, MC first transmigrated to Gaia continent in the body of seven year old Zein Valentine.
Year 880, MC died from a mysterious runic formation inside the Dark Castle's dungeon.
Year 870, MC returned 10 years into the past. The day he awakened his system.
