Varek’s life takes a tragic turn when the slavers come for his sister, Lyra—the one person who has ever shown him unconditional love. Despite his newfound strength, Varek is too late to save her, and the storm inside him erupts. His rage brings destruction as he slaughters the slavers in a bloody fit of vengeance. But in the aftermath, he is left broken and empty, and his sister is gone.
