Alex, a man of 24, had always considered himself a simple, unremarkable soul. He was overweight, inexperienced, and had never received any formal training in anything that could be considered extraordinary. His days followed a routine, mundane pattern that was almost too predictable. He woke up every morning to the same alarm and lived a life he didn’t really think about. Today, like all others, seemed as ordinary as the last. Yet, little did he know, this day would mark the beginning of a journey he could never have imagined.
Until, that is, he met her.

She was a strange woman—an artist in New Orleans, one of those mysterious figures that could vanish into the bustling streets without leaving a trace. She wasn’t from the crowds of the city, yet she somehow belonged there. After a long exchange, she ended up gifting Alex a pendent.  Alex, skeptical as always, thought nothing of it at first. What could this old trinket possibly mean to someone like him?

But this was just the first step in many he would take towards meeting the Baron Samedi himself. After going through a few hoops, Alex received his official invitation to Haverix in the form of a system.

Haverix. The name echoed in his mind like an impossible fantasy. A floating academy founded by dragons? A place where the greatest warriors, scholars, and mages were trained to face threats beyond mortal comprehension? It was the stuff of legends, and yet, here it was, calling out to him.

Alex didn’t believe in fate. He never had. But the more he read, the more the reality of it all seeped in. He had been chosen.

Thrown into this strange, otherworldly realm, Alex found himself surrounded by people far more capable, intelligent, and powerful than he could ever have imagined. At Haverix, weakness was not tolerated, and Alex was forced to confront everything he thought he knew about himself. Magic, monsters, and brutal trials awaited him at every turn, pushing him to his very limits. The reality of the academy was far harsher than anything he'd ever faced, and for the first time in his life, Alex felt like a true outsider.

If he wanted to carve out a future for himself in this incredible world, Alex would need to rise to the challenge, embrace the unimaginable power that lay dormant within him, and navigate the dangers that could consume him. This wasn’t just another day in his life—it was the beginning of something far greater than he could have ever anticipated. And it was all about to unfold, one trial at a time.
