Long ago, the world of Elysara was ruled by the Primordials—beings of pure elemental power who shaped the land, sea, and sky. But their unchecked power led to chaos, and the mortal races rose up to seal them away. The Primordials were divided into four elemental courts: Flame, Tide, Stone, and Storm. Each court was bound by a sacred seal, guarded by the mortal races who inherited fragments of their power.

Over centuries, the seals weakened, and the elemental magic seeped into the world, granting mortals the ability to wield the elements. But with this power came a rigid hierarchy: Adepts (those who could barely summon a spark or ripple), Mages (skilled wielders), Archmages (masters of their element), and the rare Ascendants—those said to wield power rivaling the Primordials themselves.
