Five thousand years ago, Marilus, the feared dark mage, fell in a cataclysmic battle against thousands of white mages who sought to protect Morvane.

He lost his tremendous powers, was thrown into the lowest depths of hell, and was sentenced to an eternity of suffering for his transgressions.

However, the Almighty gave him a chance at rebirth as an unexpected reprieve after he had suffered for 5,000 years. There was only one requirement: Marilus had to give up his previous ways and live as a mortal without the glory he once possessed. Desperate for freedom, he agreed.

To his dismay, Marilus awoke in the body of Wystan, a frail, bullied half-human, half-Eridian boy with a shattered spirit core. Wystan's life was one of ridicule and rejection, in stark contrast to Marilus' previous dominance.


Even worse was the fact that Wystan had been expelled from Mysteria Academy on false charges of stealing the Sacred Globe.

Now, confined in a body that society has judged unworthy, Marilus has to deal with the difficulties of Mysteria Academy, where magic is both a gift and a weapon.
