The alarm pierced the air, shattering the silence. Dohe's eyelids fluttered open, and she hesitated before slowly sitting up. With a gentle touch, she pressed snooze, quieting the reminder she had set the night before.

Dohe stood up, still wearing her pajamas, and slipped on her bunny slippers. Her mind began to drift to the past, memories she had tried to lock away for 14 years. The sound of an ambulance was the first thing she heard when she tried to recall that tragic night.

As she turned, she saw her younger self, hair packed in two ponytails, eyes swollen from excessive crying. Dohe's voice trembled as she pleaded, "Mom..." She knelt beside her mother's lifeless body, tears streaming down her face.

The sound of shattering glass broke the spell, returning Dohe to the present. "The past you try to run from is what always comes to meet you." Dohe's life was a testament to those words.

At 11, Dohe lost her parents in a tragic accident. Adopted by the influential Lucretia Family, she grew independent but struggled to shake off the pain. Fourteen years had passed, but memories of her parents lingered.

Dohe yawned, covering her mouth, and walked to the mirror. A faint smile crossed her lips as she gazed at her reflection. She took a towel from her wardrobe and headed to the bathroom.

After her bath, Dohe got dressed and picked up her bag. Her unique, soft hair framed her face. She recalled her parents' death on her 11th birthday, the last time she saw them.

That fateful night, her parents received a call from the office, leaving Dohe behind. "We'll be back before you know it," they promised. But they never returned.

Dohe waited, calling them repeatedly until a police officer answered. "Little girl, calm down... Your parents were in an accident... They didn't make it." Dohe's world shattered.

Back in the present, Dohe's reverie was interrupted by a voice. "Where is she? I heard something break." A girl in her early twenties greeted an elderly woman.

Dohe emerged from her room, hair cascading down her back, carrying a designer black bag. "Grandma, I'm going to the office. Don't forget your hospital appointment."

As Dohe left, she called her manager, Lisa. A car pulled up; it was Lisa. "Miss Dohe, where are you headed?" Dohe entered the car, and Lisa informed her about a dinner meeting arranged by her grandmother.

Dohe's annoyance grew. She called her grandmother, Majojo, who confirmed the dinner plans. Dohe was frustrated but had no choice.

At the restaurant, Dohe met a man, Yehosua, who had booked the place for a private meeting. His blonde hair and brown eyes caught her attention.

As Dohe entered, Yehosua read a newspaper, ignoring her. "Who are you?" he asked harshly, without looking up. Dohe introduced herself, and Yehosua's gaze remained fixed on the paper.

A waiter interrupted, delivering cake. Yehosua's interest shifted, but Dohe was annoyed. "Can I sit?" she asked. Yehosua's sarcastic "No" fueled her irritation.

Dohe took a seat, and Yehosua finally looked up. His handsome features surprised her. She wondered if he knew it was her birthday.

Just as Dohe reached for the cake, a group of gang members burst in. Dohe slipped and fell, but Yehosua caught her, saving the cake with his other hand.

As Dohe rushed to the washroom, she couldn't shake off Yehosua's handsome image. Meanwhile, the gang leader threatened Yehosua, who remained calm, focused on his cake.

Yehosua's priorities puzzled the gang leader. "Can't someone eat cake in peace?" Yehosua asked, taking another spoonful.

The leader's anger grew, and Yehosua's determination to savor the cake seemed almost... deadly.
