In a lush, self-contained terrarium, Rollan, a solitary isopod, has known only the safety of his miniature world. Beneath the moss, soil, and decaying wood lies a predictable existence, shielded by the glass walls that define his reality. But when a jagged, glowing rock disrupts the tranquil balance of the terrarium, it brings with it a mysterious and imposing creature—a being from "the beyond" with a chilling message: the terrarium is merely a shell, and the world Rollan knows is breaking.

As the intruder challenges the harmony of the small community, Rollan emerges as an unlikely leader, rallying his fellow creatures—ants, beetles, springtails, and spiders—against the creature’s divisive philosophy of domination. Together, they defend their unity against the growing crack in their fragile world, even as it reveals glimpses of something far greater and far more dangerous.

When the shell finally shatters, Rollan and his companions are thrust into an infinite, surreal expanse beyond the glass. Facing an enigmatic force of light and the daunting vastness of the "beyond," Rollan must grapple with his newfound role as a guide and protector in a world that dwarfs his understanding.
