The nine strongest evil spirits escaped from hell and corrupted the eight celestial beasts. Jian Xi is a newly initiated Taoist who lives with his grandfather and his companion Baiji, a talking bipedal pig. They travel the world acquiring knowledge and companions while trying to purify the corrupted celestial beasts and restore the world's balance.
