After a millennium of monotony, the hidden immortals found themselves utterly bored with the endless cycle of existence. Growing weary of merely observing humanity from the shadows, they decided it was time to stir things up a bit. The immortal known as Doyen took the initiative to gather individuals from various backgrounds and corners of the globe, crafting a pocket universe complete with an island that served as a hub connecting different mini-worlds through portals. This island became a playground for the abducted humans, thrust into a brutal survival game. Doyen extended invitations to his fellow immortals, encouraging them to select champions for their twisted contests. If the humans failed to amuse, the immortals had the option to exert direct control over them. Each participant received a familiar egg and a backpack filled with essential gear, as they were cast onto the island designed to push their limits, all for the entertainment of the watching immortals.
