In the world of Ereven, Spirit Hunters are common, relying on their summoned mystical beings known as Khodam. Khodam are magical entities that humans can summon, and they play a key role in fighting magical monsters emerging from the Void. These monsters drop energy stones, which are crucial for everyday life in Ereven. Power and wealth in this world come from the strength of a person's Khodam, and the ultimate goal for many is to become the Spirit Emperor, the most powerful title in the land.

Khodams are ranked by rarity, from the common Grade F to the almost mythical Grade SS, which only a handful of people throughout history have ever possessed. Those with stronger Khodams are highly respected and powerful, with many striving to become elite Spirit Hunters or even the next Spirit Emperor.

In the capital city of Saranjayana, Arkana Arvin, a young man with incredible physical abilities, rushes to take his Khodam test at the age of 17, the standard age for this life-defining exam. With his exceptional speed and strength, Arkana impresses everyone during the physical tests, quickly becoming the top candidate. However, when the moment arrives for him to summon his Khodam, to everyone's shock, including his own, he summons a Grade F Khodam — a Tuyul, a lowly and weak spirit known for its uselessness and simple thieving ability.

Despite Arkana extraordinary abilities and high Spirit Ki, he is cursed with a Khodam that will only bring ridicule and limitations. His dream of becoming a powerful Spirit Hunter and perhaps even the Spirit Emperor is shattered. The story follows Arkana journey in a world that no longer believes in him, and how he must overcome not only external challenges but his own shattered confidence, as he faces a future that has taken an unexpected and cruel turn.
