Mind of Steel. Heart of Gold.

In the bustling metropolis of Iron City, Dr. Daisuke Ido wanders aimlessly through the central dump in search of anything useful, until he stumbles upon an extraordinary discovery: the remains of an unconscious cyborg girl, possibly hundreds of years old, whose original brain remains intact. Excited by his discovery, the compassionate Ido takes the girl over to his clinic, where he names her "Alita."

When this enigmatic beauty finally awakens, she does so without any memory of who she is and no recognition of the technologically advanced world she finds herself in. Lost in a land of treacherous secrets and hi-tech, Alita learns to navigate her new life under the guidance of Ido, but both soon discover that Alita herself is a powerful cyborg with abilities beyond compare, and that her adventurous spirit and curiosity cannot be contained, let alone controlled.

Alita sets out then to learn about life, making friends and enemies alike throught the cruel world of the Scrapyard, far below the utopian floating city of Zalem, and serving many masters in her quest to protect the innocent, create a new life for herself, and ultimately find her place in the world.
