In the year 3050, humanity has achieved unrivalled heights in technology. The discovery of the Lumina(essentially a person's soul) and the invention of the PowerGrid, a revolutionary device capable of augmenting the innate abilities of individuals given by the Lumina, has granted individuals diverse powers ranging from telekinesis to shape-shifting. These people are called Luminaries.
Unfortunately, their progress has not gone unnoticed. Other races in the universe, realizing the threat in allowing them to develop any further, decide to wipe them out once and for all. The humans stand their ground and are able to repel them, but the war is far from over. Understanding this, humanity builds institutions all around the globe to train any prospective Luminaries with powers capable of fighting against the impending doom.
Cheren Alden, an average teenager, enrolls at one of these institutions. His goal, no one knows. Although his enrollment was the pivot that will change his and the fate of the world forever.
