In the 1920s, there had been an old sanitarium at the edge of the forest, a sprawling estate of cold brick and iron that housed the insane, the criminally disturbed, and those who just didn't fit anywhere else. It closed after a fire in 1933, but the ghosts of its past were said to linger.

The townsfolk warned their children not to go near the ruins, but kids are curious. On the outskirts of town, beyond the sanitarium, was the Greystone Forest - the woods where the darkness grew wild, feeding on nightmares. It wasn't just the woods themselves that were terrifying; it was the stories, the creatures people swore they saw on cold, moonless nights.
