190 walls surround 190 small cities, each inhabited by people who know nothing about the history of the walls or their own. Every six months, each wall is attacked by the 'Shadow' soldiers, who destroy the wall and kill all its inhabitants. Despite this, the city's soldiers have never managed to defeat the Shadows even once. One day, Karo and his companions decide to enter the tunnels leading outside the wall, which are forbidden because anyone who enters never returns, to uncover one of the secrets of the walls and embark on a journey to discover what lies beyond and within the walls.
