Despite being a brilliant student, Jason does not awaken any powers at 18, unlike his sister, Emily, who awakens as an A-ranker and is selected for the prestigious 3rd Awakeners Academy.Jason’s life takes a downward spiral as he becomes the target of bullying and torture, especially from Kevin, an A-ranker from a wealthy family who steals Jason's girlfriend, Sarah. The relentless torment pushes Jason to the brink of death. In his final moments, a locket given to him by his late parents begins to glow, binding him to a mysterious "Werewolf System."
