The ancient land of Shanling is divided into four kingdoms ruled by the Shen, Ling, Huo, and Ying clans. The isolated Ying clan forces a reluctant marriage between Princess Meili and the skeptical King Jiang Weilong of Ling. But Xiuying, princess of Shen clan disguises as Meili and marries Weilong who harbors deep mistrust towards her, as he believes that she is from Ying. As unsettling occurrences disrupt the land, and an old prophecy threatens to come true and the demon master is awakened, Weilong who dismisses the tales of supernatural events and ancient prophecies as mere myths, must face it and Xiuying has to find a way to prevent the upcoming supernatural catastrophe as well as deal with her own desires.
