“Who is that golden creature?” Phillex, the most notorious casanova in all of Astendal, risked another glance at the young woman dressed in royal blue. “How can such an innocent face show off such a damn sensual mouth? Hells take me!!”

“Get a hold of yourself, Phills.” Another gentleman smiled beside Phillex. His hair, of an unusual color between silver and gold, waved when he moved his face. “I saw her first. She is mine. She already carries my mark.”

“Damn you Jairo…” Said Phillex, half amused, half pissed. “Is that a tattoo? Damn! She shows it off with complete impudence! A letter…? Is that a V?”

“Her name is Vera.” Commented a new voice. Both men turned to look at an imposing woman in a daring, scandalous red dress.

“Ciara!” Phillex greeted with an elegant flourish. “Do you know that lady?”

“Mmm… V for Vera…” Jairo murmured.

But he couldn't be more wrong.
