From the soil the plant's roots draw nutrients and with starlight it changes. It blooms and fruits. The squirrel eats the seeds and is eaten by the snake which is in turn eaten by the hawk. Fungus and worms break the hawk down to the soil and nutrients that feeds the plants.  All things grow by taking energy from another.  This is the rule in this world and all others.  

Left with nothing and no one,  Tim awaits the days he can start on his journey. Knowing it's a one way trip he has no hesitation to see the world beyond "The Door." Who knows what awaits on these mysterious paths that has taken generations of warriors and explorers away from home never to be heard from again.
