In a world sculpted by the relentless duality of light and darkness, the "heroes" stand at the pinnacle of the social order, protecting humanity from the curses that seek to devour their souls. Born under the sign of mysterious blessings, these fortunate ones form the sacred 10 percent of the population capable of manipulating mystical energy to combat supernatural forces.

Within this enclave of warriors, Makoto emerges, a prodigy with an apparent disadvantage that has marked his destiny: he lacks any hint of emotion. His world is one without color, without pain or pleasure, compelled by the expectations of his status to display an endless series of masks, each designed to hide his emptiness from watchful eyes.
