An intergalactic war had happened and the weapons of ultimate power in the Universe 'The Trixes' (Omnitrix & Oppotrix) were brought to earth and given to the Shin's family for protection. That decision proved to be a smart one as they passed the Trixes down through their generatios not until the Hive caught up with the holder of the Oppotrix and possessed her. The holder of the Omnitrix had to fight for the redemption of the Oppotrix. He was half successful but the universe had other plans as he was about to pass down the Trixes.
