A mad scientist is hired to carry out a research about a peculiar group of prisoners, which are jailed in a massive castle site on a coal mine and turned into a maximum security prison: Maddalena de' Cattivi.

He has to demonstrate this people deserves a second chance, so he decides to use the Gothic Novels to conduct them through the deep Ego.

The result is not what he expected for.
