Discovering he is not rejected by magic but cursed, he realizes the curse can only be lifted by reaching the peak of magic. 

But why curse him? Who curses him? He doesn't know and is determined to unravel the mystery behind it. But for now, he will utilize this newfound blessing to ascend as a mage who cannot even cast magic directly.
