When the knight's sword pierced his flesh in the crumbling castle, Edgar wanted death. The Demon King had perished. His father, Ceaser, the leader of the demonic race and the man who tried to eradicate the Aether Kingdom, had died at the hands of a commoner, proclaimed hero. So, Edgar welcomed his demise. After all, his entire life was deplorable. Death was a sweet release, a salvation of sorts. However, he had woken up the next day covered in rubble with his mother's necklace seared into his flesh. The black and white bead necklace was gone, leaving behind scars where it once was 

After awakening, Edgar finds himself repeatedly dying yet never staying dead. The demon royalty were all killed except for him, the weakest member, as he's left with a strange power chaining him to life. Throughout his journey, he struggles with his identity and how he wants to live his life as he quickly realizes that the world is still hell without the demon king terrorizing it.
