After an encounter with mercenaries, he is rescued and adopted by a humble merchant. As he grows older, Velan discovers his connection to magic and long-held secrets, living legends, and powers beyond his wildest imagination.

On Zephyra, the human kingdoms have complex political and social relationships, and throughout his life, Velan will face challenges, political intrigue, and human greed.
