In the far future, humanity traversed the stars and crossed dimensions, but what they found at the end of time and space was not paradise nor hell.  Instead, they found the ruins of an ancient Earth, and a threat of destruction.  Ever is a high achieving but lazy student of the Voyager's College, an elite school that trains future explorers to prepare for leaping across the boundaries of the known universe.  However, he soon finds that his easy going days have come to an end as a blue window suddenly appears in the air before him and the rest of humanity, with glowing text that reads, "Download update?"
