After the world was overrun by alien insects Devontae and his wife struggled to survive in the world but one eventually succumbed to death. 
Devontae finding the resistance using his background in biochemical engineering he worked to create a way to fight of these otherworldly beast.

Humanity was forced underground and in his final moments he achieved a breakthrough but was killed in the end leaving the date of the world unknown. An unknown figure watching the universe saw such a tragedy and decided to give the man a second chance on a different world strengthening its inhabitants so that they may eventually kill the Zerg.
