One hundred and twenty convicts are released after rampant corruption is uncovered. Many were innocent people finally exonerated.  Unfortunately, others undeservedly are thrust back into society to pick up where they left off.

In this time of civil unrest and political upheaval, Vincent Black dedicates his considerable talents to guiding his city through this new era. 

As the police force dwindles, a group of vigilantes take up black bats at the behest of a charismatic leader to keep an eye on the newly freed convicts as well as anyone they deem problematic.

Vincent looks to expand his network of Gentlemen to aid in this transitional period and keep his adopted family out of trouble. 

Torn between his professional obligations and personal life, he barely has the energy to keep past victims from joining the black bats.

With the help of his new recruits and a surprisingly powerful new ally, Vincent is able to keep the city from tearing itself apart.
