Balthasar Wijsdom is a maester in training studying under the strict but fair master Kyian Fogul. One day his master demands Balthasar to complete his "Historia Warsdum". A piece of literature every aspiring maester has to write to allow them to join the convention and become a fullfledged maester.

However, Kyian does not stop there. Demanding a piece only containing truthful history. If Baltahasar were to deliver something subpar, he would be stripped of his apprentice title.

Armed with determination and a goal, Balthasar tries to complete his "Historia Warsdum" to discover that lies are more common than truth and his task perhaps impossible.
