On an ordinary summers day the world changed forever, monsters rushed into the city centers, guns were useless against these monsters, but just as the 6th extinction event of the planet began, humanity saw hope, when people all over the world started gaining special powers, with the help of these powers and with catastrophic human sacrifice, humanity was able to delay its extinction and the world entered a new era.

As these massive events were taking place there was a smaller mysterious event that also took place, a thousand people from all over the world disappeared with a beam of light, but the scale of this event was so small compared to the seismic shift that had taken place that these events were completely forgotten.

The families of these families griefed at first but quickly moved on not because they wanted to but because they had to just like the families of the millions that had died in the hands of the monsters, that was until one day a boy showed up, still the same age he was when he disappeared 10 years later.

But this story is not about him it is about the man that had returned along with him and escaped the attention while the world's eyes were focused on the boy.

This is the story of Max the returnee.
