My name is Alexander Hoffman. I am the third born son of Baron Hoffman and the only child of five to have magical potential but all the dreams of wealth, power and influence I had conjured came crashing down when I attended the Royal Academy of Magical Arts.
I tested to have 235MP and a grade 1 talent, compare that to the class average of 660MP and grade 3 talent I was nothing. 
After 9 months of bullying due to my sickly physique and poor talent I was sent back home to the Hoffman Barony. I was walking amongst the peasantry on the way to the town manor and found a number books at a stall of a traveling merchant, one book in particular was calling out to me.
The promises of power whispered into my ear was to alluring to turn down.
After all what do I have left to loose?
