In the broken city of Los Angeles, cast in the shadow of the great barrier wall that keeps what is left of the city from sloughing off to join the rest of the old city in the sea, every day is a struggle against the heat, the humidity, and the crushing weight of an uncertain future. Here lives a young android woman and her protective friend, working to get by as best they can. Around them, the city burns.

This is where our pair come in. Jaxon, the former detective, is handed the contract to investigate the arson attacks by a friend at the department. Find the truth comes down to his talents, and those of his android friend, Himiko.
