Andrew and Victoria are both successful entrepreneurs. Their businesses include wineries and vineyards, as well as cheese production facilities. Last year, their eldest son graduated from college and joined their family business.  Nate wonders if he and his sister will eventually need to carry on the family business. In his spare time, Nate designed the winery's logo, wrote marketing brochures, and translated French documents for the winery's French partners. 

Nate is known in the family as a girl named Natalia. Nate was only called Nate when he was alone with his little sister Annalise. She looked up to him as her big brother. Nate turns to Annalise when he finds that the world is unable to understand him. Over time, he ceased to share his identity with her and understood that he must stop being Nate. For his own safety, he chose to bury his identity beneath the surface and assumed the identity of an obedient, well-mannered girl named Natalia.                                                                                   	                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    	On Natalia's 16th birthday, Nate revealed his true identity to his parents and the dynamics in his family started to fall apart.
