Helios is a planet that consists of individual circular islands that is filled with Elan Vital(mana). A thousand years ago, there was a discovery on one of its islands. There was a decay that absorbs everything into darkness and nothingness. This was called the Plague of Noctis. 


They discovered a way to contain the Plague of Noctis, they made barrier that released a continuous supply of flames. It kept the plague at bay. 


A thousand years later, the Plague of Noctis seeped through the barrier and rendered it useless.

A few years later a malnourished boy who lives in the Bocht, a dead zone, lost his parents on his 14th Birthday; he watched his father burn in front of his eyes. 


Unfortunately, he also lost his sight and was bleeding to death. In a turn of events, he met an old man that saved him from dying and granted him a mysterious system. Their meeting might be fate or the work of God. No one knows.

This is my first time writing a novel. I have been a reader for as long as I can remember and just decided one day that I would try writing. 

So please, be kind and forgive me if the quality of writing is bad, for the wrong grammars and inconsistencies in between. I will try my best to better my writing as this novel progresses.

Another version of this story is also up for the Spirity Awards Spring 2021 and I couldn't delete the original, so i'll update both of them.
