Luna once had a loving family with a loving mother and a doting father. She was a nerd with good grades and a small but caring group of friends. 

At the start of her freshman year, tragedy struck and her mother was killed by drunk driver. Lost in the pain of her mothers death her father moved them away and got deep into drugs and joined a gang. During those two years Luna suffered abuse from her father and his gang buddies.

Right before the start of her senior year, her fathers house was raided by the police and she made a deal with them and was sent back to her home town and her old family house. Now trying to hide and make a normal life for herself.
