Raimond was his close friend Marx, he tricked him to sacrifice himself willingly by using his childhood crush Erina. Marx was the prince of the country and always acted as a friend around Raimond because of his knowledge. The one who asked for a sorcerer as a sacrifice was Dungeon Queen Athena. She ordered Raimond to Fight one of her slave for mere entertainment and she declared that, the one who would win shall get freedom, however he shall live rest of the life in the dungeon. It was a lose-lose situation for Raimond coz even if he wins he have to spend rest of his life inside the dungeon. When he fought against that demon slave, he barely managed to win, but before the demon died he gave a stone to Raimond and said, "Take this...get stronger...and kill...that bitch...Athena." Afterwards the Queen left Raimond in the deepest and the darkest part of the dungeon, but fortunately for Raimond the stone guided him to a certain someone who changed his life forever.
