Ling Qi was a twenty seven year old girl who just received her PHD in Ancient Chinese Linguistics emphasized on Poetry, History, Customs, and Writing. 

Ling Qi had just broken up with her boyfriend of ten years, Liu Yang. Due to sadness, she lost focus of what she was doing, and she dies due to an electric scooter - car accident.

Wei Shu Ting is a twenty one year old lady from Tang Dynasty. She became a Concubine to Emperor Wu when he was still a prince. After Emperor Wu became Emperor, she was granted the title Royal Noble Consort, only one rank below the Empress. Wei Shu Ting already has three children; Emperor Wu’s oldest ‘live’ son, Chen, and a set of fraternal Twins, Kai and Mei. 

Due to the love and affection Emperor Wu gave Wei Shu Ting, she is hated by all of the other concubines, especially the Empress. 

One night, the Empress gave Wei Shu Ting a silver shot glass full of poison. Wei Shu Ting fell into a coma.
